1. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): By Albert Ellis
This psychological theory of practice has become the leading treatment for anxiety and with good reason. It's main focus is on working with THINKING and ACTING, rather than feelings. The therapeutic processes also focus on the present experiences (Here and Now). Ellis says " BLAME" is the core of emotional disturbances and to recover from that neurosis, we need to stop blaming ourselves and instead learn to accept ourselves despite our imperfections.
Therapeutic Goal.
* Teaching and assisting clients how to change their dysfunctional emotions and behaviors into healthy ones.
2. Person - Centered Approach
This theory of practice, also focuses on the here- and- now problems and not the past.
The concept "SELF " is the focal point in Wellness Counseling.
Carl Rogers says " clients perceive the world according to their own experiences.
Therapeutic Goal.
Person/ Client - Centered Approach promotes Self-actualization (growth and development) in a client so that they become what they are capable of becoming and for significant changes to occur.
